Pool Operations Update

Hello Candelas Residents,

With the recent concerns that have been received regarding the “Safety Break” mandate, we will be implementing a change with the pool operations that will go into effect as of tomorrow, Friday July 13th.

At this time the lifeguards at both Townview and Parkview are taking breaks every 45 minutes, for a 15 minute period. During these 15 minutes, lifeguards are mandating all residents to vacate the pool, allowing for the residents to take a break as well. This is called a safety break and the practice was originated by the pool contractor.

We have made the decision to retract the mandate which required everyone to leave the pool during this safety break. Instead, the lifeguard will blow their whistle to indicate that the safety break has begun. A temporary sign will be placed in each lifeguard chair that states “No Lifeguard on Duty – Swim at Your Own Risk”. The whistle will be blown again once the lifeguard returns and the safety break has ended.

Thank you for your cooperation with the recent changes and we appreciate the feedback. Please feel free to contact the Candelas office at 720-625-8080 with any questions or concerns.
